All about eyelashes!

I’ve been without eyelash extensions for months now, and Latisse is working well.  So this is just a vapid beauty blog entry.

Almay is great and all, but I was really pleasantly surprised with Alba Botanica Hawaiian Makeup Remover Sheets, and they were only $3.99 at Whole Foods.

I’m attracted to anything that says “Hawaii” on it, so that did it for me:

It also smells like Pineapple.  My mascara came off so easily I was SHOCKED.

In addition to Dior Show Mascara, They’re Real by Benefit is completely amazing as well, but NON-Waterproof mascara is better for the eyelashes.

I found this great primer from Lancome Cils Booster

623538848_1653090226You apply it before mascara, let it dry for a bit, then apply as many coats as you want.

I wasn’t really sold on lash primer until I saw other women wearing it, and they told me that was the secret to their successful looking lush lashes.

If Lancome is beyond your price point, Elf has a decent primer as well, for $3.00….BUT, it takes longer for it to dry before you apply mascara.

Okay.  This is my beauty advice for the day…do with it what you will.

ALSO, it’s not good to sleep in mascara, but I figure no worse than constantly wearing lash extensions.  Thanks to mascara primer I could easily wear and sleep in mascara for 3 days!!! (if I really wanted to…and yes, maybe I did that.)

Laverne Cox remembers her first red carpet experience.  It was 2005 and she was on the rug at the Tribecca Film Festival, standing before the paparazzi. “I was in acting school and they gave some of the students the chance to walk the carpet,” she recalls. “Someone told me to pose in their direction.”  She vogued for the lens and then the photographer said, “Thanks, I’m just testing my camera.”

Beth Stern

If it were humanly possible for Grace Kelly and Christie Brinkley to procreate, their spawn might resemble Beth Stern, a refined beauty with mesmerizing eyes and a genuine smile. Looking more West Coast than Pittsburgh, where she grew up, Ms. Stern—né Beth Ostrosky—came to Manhattan in 2000 to pursue a modeling and acting career. Her life changed a year later when she crossed paths with radio personality Howard Stern.

The Pro’s and Con’s of Dry Shampoo…

I LOVE dry shampoo.  I love it so much that I will admit, I’ve let several days go by before I bother washing my hair…but too much of something is never a good thing.

Being a blonde makes hair more prone to breakage.  I wasn’t admitting to myself that maybe overusing dry shampoo was ruining my hair.  My amazing stylist, however, told me that I need to actually WASH my hair and avoid dry shampoo.  For how long?  “Awhile.” She said.  So I snagged a few tubes of this Green Routine Jonathan Dry Shampoo.  It was on clearance at Duane Reade, so I loaded up.

I don’t think that this is a bad product, but it didn’t work for my hair.  If you have light colored hair using baby powder is just as effective and cheaper.  But when it comes down to it, at the end of the day, it feels really good to actually wash your hair.

Pick up the New York Observer today for a lovely piece about Beth Stern…

The link isn’t live yet, but I will post it as soon as it is.

I had the amazing opportunity to interview Beth Stern during the excitement of The Hallmark Channel’s First Annual Kitten Bowl!

I’ve interviewed a lot of people, and Beth is THE most genuine person I’ve encountered who is truly passionate about her love for animals.  She works with The North Shore Animal League and is currently working on an amazing facility with NSAL: Bianca’s Furry Friends.

Here’s a photo with Beth and one of her furry friends:
